Former CustomerSometimes you need the VA before you have "enough" work to give them. Sometimes the VA is there for you when chaos strikes. And being a business owner, is all about being ready for the chaos as best you can, before it hits. I had no idea how instrumental Sam would be for me in my moment of chaos.
Before working with Sam I was overwhelmed. Trying to do it all and wear all the hats while also trying to grow my business at the same time. I always worried about having enough work to warrant having a VA, so I held off. But after talking with Sam, I realized how things could work and provide the flexibility to increase when I was ready. I started working with Sam a few months before I was due to give birth to my second baby. I took maternity leave, knowing I had Sam to help me with my monthly recurring work (after we did a lot of cleaning up).
After my son was born though. I had no idea how much Sam would help me. I didn't know it until he was a week old. But he was born with a rare congenital heart defect. The kind where he had to be flown to the best Children's hospital over an hour away. He had open heart surgery at 2 weeks old. In that moment... on that day... my business was set aside for my son. And because I had Sam, I didn't have to worry about my business. She was there to help me keep it running, while I took care of my son.
Without having Sam, I don't know what I would have done to keep my business going through the chaos. Because of how on top of things she is, I've not had one fear, worry, or moment of stress over things. She's communicated with me, has gotten everything done, and is incredible to work with.
